Just in time
Today is Eli's 6-month birthday, and since I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, I took this last opportunity to duplicate the photo above. And I think it's a good time to share these lyrics by Jack Johnson:
If I Could
A brand new baby was born yesterday
just in time
papa cried, baby cried
said your tears are like mine
I heard some words
from a friend on the phone
that didn't sound so good
The doctor gave him two weeks to live
I'd give him more if I could
You know that I would now
If only I could
You know that I would now
If only I could
Down the middle drops one more
grain of sand
They say that
new life makes losing life easier to understand
Words are kind
they helped ease the mind
of this, my old friend
And though you gotta go
we'll keep a piece of your soul
One goes out
One comes in
You know that I would now
If only I could
You know that I would now
If only I could

Oh Andrea,
The photographs are wonderful!

Andrea, I love the idea and how you recreated the picture b/c it's just like something your mom would've done. -Eleanor
You made me smile and cry at the same time. Cherish the past, make the best of the present, and create a memory for the future. Sue N
What a wonderful way to continue the memories. It's easy to see how your Mom lives on in everything you do. She is right there with you, every minute of everyday, in your heart. For the world to see ;)
I always forget to sign my name! That last one was me... Cynthia ;)
